Today, we pause in remembrance.
On this 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who stepped forward in our nation’s darkest hours.

We also lift up one of our own — Melvin Welch, who was among the first to arrive at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 from the Salvation Army. With a mobile feeding unit parked just 50 feet from the impact site, he spent more than a month serving first responders, military personnel, and Pentagon staff with compassion, prayer, and unwavering presence.

His story reminds us that even in moments of unimaginable tragedy, service, unity, and humanity prevail.

We will never forget.

We celebrated our YouthWorks Summer Internship Closing Ceremony with our long‑standing partner, Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation. This summer, we hosted 8 interns ages 16–18 for 5 weeks, offering hands‑on training in youth development, program planning, team building, and more.

60% of our interns already plan to work with youth. The remaining 40% were undecided — but AAWDC’s post‑survey shows many are now interested in youth development after completing the program.

Proud of their growth and grateful for this continued partnership.
