📆 🎉SAVE THE DATE!

Join us on Saturday, June 27th at AWE's Community Mural Block Party in Ellwood Park! We'll be celebrating the unveiling of the immigrant-youth led mural, "We Are Here: Our Colors, Our Stories, Our Community," that has finally come to fruition after years in the making.

From 11am to 2pm, we'll be celebrating the completion of this special project in community with one another. There will be music, food, youth artwork, kid activities and face painting, and words from local artists and community leaders.

We hope to see you there! 💙

What does it take to create a community mural?

In this case, it has taken years of vision boards, community building, youth leadership, neighborhood outreach, design workshops, fundraising, and countless hours of collaboration.

Titled "We Are Here: Our Colors, Our Stories, Our Community," the mural celebrates the voices, resilience, and creativity of immigrant youth. At a time when immigrant communities are under attack, it reminds us that joy and community are forms of resistance.

After a challenging but rewarding process, the project is finally coming to fruition! Join us on Saturday, June 27th as we celebrate the completion and unveiling of the mural at our Community Block Party! More details to come.

Until then, we're excited to share this behind-the-scenes look at the journey that brought this mural to life. We're so grateful to everyone who helped make this project possible. Click the link below to watch the full video on our website. 💙

We're so grateful to Baltimore magazine for doing a story about AWE and our work in their June 2026 issue.

They conducted multiple interviews with staff, our partners The Intercultural Counseling Connection and HEAL Refugee Health and Asylum Collaborative, and one of our clients to learn about the issues facing asylum seekers and other forced migrants, what we are seeing in Baltimore, and the ways we are working to continue supporting clients during this time.

Please pick up a copy and you can also read the article online here! https://www.baltimoremagazine.com/section/historypolitics/asylee-women-enterprise-northeast-baltimore-provides-critical-support-asylum-seekers-ice-immigration-crackdowns/
