The University of Pittsburgh is looking for US residents with disabilities who are 18 or older to participate in their new "Voice of the Consumers with Disabilities on Mainstream Wireless Technology" Survey, aimed at better understanding the experiences of people with disabilities using smartphones, apps, smart home technology, and wearables, including barriers and supports to technology use.

Presented by Dr. Brian Friedlander, a school psychologist with over 35 years of experience in assistive technology. He has a passion for using a wide range of technologies in his professional work.

Dr. Friedlander was an Associate Professor of Education at Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, N.J., where he coordinated Graduate Programs in Special Education and taught undergraduate and graduate courses in special education and assistive technology.

Dr. Friedlander maintains a consulting and private practice in assistive technology, working with schools and parents to find innovative solutions to support student learning. He provides assistive technology evaluations, training, coaching, and consulting to both families and schools. Dr. Friedlander is available to give presentations and webinars on assistive technology. Many of his services can be done virtually over Zoom.

Many thanks to the aptly named Smiley Pediatric Therapy for sharing this kid's great experience with the Obi Robot, which one of their OT's borrowed straight from our AT loan library! It's always awesome to get glimpses into the really cool moments that arise when folks have the opportunity to try out assistive tech.
