SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 7, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office responded to an animal complaint on May 28, 2026, at 10:07 a.m. on Arbor Avenue in the town of Malta. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest Thursday of Holly M. Walsh-Plew, 46, of Malta for overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide sustenance (class A misdemeanor).

Walsh-Plew is accused of failing to provide sustenance to a 3-year-old hound mix. The dog was seized by virtue of a court order and turned over to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. Malta Code Enforcement issued a "Do Not Occupy" order for the residence.

She was released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in the Malta Town Court.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 7, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury motor vehicle crash Monday at 1:10 a.m. on Ballston Lake Road in the town of Clifton Park. Investigation into the collision resulted in the arrest of Barbara A. Frederick, 39, of Ballston Lake for DWI (unclassified misdemeanor).

Frederick is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. She was also cited for failing to use designated lane, speed not reasonable and prudent and operating an unregistered vehicle (infractions).

Frederick had reportedly been operating a 2014 Subaru Forester traveling north on Ballston Lake Road when it left its lane of travel, crossed over the opposite lane and struck a mailbox and a guardrail, causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle proceeded to strike a utility pole causing downed wires and a road sign before coming to rest on its roof.

She was transported to Albany Medical Center by Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS for evaluation and treatment of apparently non-life-threatening injuries. Frederick was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in the Clifton Park Town Court.

There were no other people or vehicles involved.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 2, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office arrested Roy R. Cheyenne, 49, of Corinth Tuesday for concealment of a human co**se (class E felony). The arrest was a result of investigation into a call the Sheriff’s Office responded to Monday at 6:24 p.m. on Walnut Street in the village of Corinth where the caller reported finding what they believed was a dead body.

Cheyenne is accused of having a reasonable expectation that a human co**se would be produced at an autopsy for a criminal investigation and allegedly concealed it under blankets in a bedroom in a dwelling he formerly occupied which is now vacant. The body appeared to have been in the apartment for a significant period of time, and the cause of death has not yet been determined.

He was arraigned before the Honorable Lane Schermerhorn in the Corinth Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in that court.

The identity of the deceased is still under investigation.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 2, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for failing to signal a turn Monday at 1:00 p.m. on Harrison Avenue in the village of South Glens Falls. Investigation into the stop led to the arrest of Heidi M. Werner, 62, of Hudson Falls for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree (class B felony), tampering with physical evidence (class E felony) and failure to give appropriate signal (infraction).

Werner is accused of knowingly and unlawfully possessing co***ne with intent to sell it and of concealing glass pipes by throwing them out of the vehicle. She was also charged with failing to signal a turn.

Werner was arraigned before the Honorable Jeffrey B. McCabe in the Moreau Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in that court.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 2, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office received a call for a welfare check Monday at 6:24 p.m. on Walnut Street in the village of Corinth. The caller reported finding what they believed was a dead body.

Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a dead body inside the residence. The Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Unit was requested to the scene and is actively investigating the matter.

There is not believed to be any danger to the public.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 1, 2026) – Saratoga County Sheriff Jeffrey R. Brown announced today that Saratoga County citizens may sign up for emergency notifications via voice, text and/or email for events such as severe weather or other emergencies.

“Knowledge is power,” Brown said. “This program allows Saratoga County residents to know what is happening around them and is a fantastic tool to supplement one’s safety. I hope that citizens will consider adding this service to their daily routines.”

Interested citizens may scan the accompanying QR code to sign up for the program. The service is provided by Saratoga County and there is no cost to use it.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (June 1, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check on May 23, 2026, at 6:28 p.m. at 3901 Lewis Road in the town of Milton. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest Saturday of Tabetha M. Jones, 21, of Milton for six counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals; failure to provide sustenance (class A misdemeanors).

Jones is accused of failing to provide sustenance to three cats and three dogs. The animals were seized by the Milton animal control officer by virtue of a court order and transported to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter for evaluation and treatment. The residence was subsequently condemned by the Milton code enforcement officer.

She was released on appearance tickets pending proceedings in the Milton Town Court.

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y (June 1, 2026) – The Sheriff’s Office responded to an active domestic incident call Sunday at 1:08 a.m. on Annacrest Drive in the town of Greenfield. Investigation into the matter led to the arrest of Ashley T. Close, 32, of Delmar for assault in the 2nd degree (class D felony), criminal contempt in the 1st degree (class E felony), menacing in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree and two counts of criminal mischief in the 4th degree (class A misdemeanors).

Close is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument. She allegedly threw a ceramic piggy bank at the victim striking their head resulting in pain and swelling and violated an order of protection in doing so. Close was also charged with possessing a dangerous instrument, intentionally attempting to place the victim in reasonable fear of physical injury by swinging a croquet mallet at them and intentionally damaging both a necklace and a lamp belonging to the victim.

She was arraigned before the Honorable Michael Ginley in the Greenfield Town Court and released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings in that court.
