On Saturday, several of our cadets were proud to participate in Skills Day at the Connecticut State Police Academy. Hosted by Nerleea, the event exposes cadets to a wide range of law enforcement–related topics designed to enhance and sharpen their skills.

Advisors Speziale, Robichaud, and Dalaba assisted with instruction in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests as well as Narcan administration and CPR training.

We are grateful for the opportunity to take part in such a valuable training experience and to support the continued development of these hardworking young men and women.

A big thank you to cadet Sgt Zach DeBonis, Cadet Gavin Loncaric and Cadet Matthew Cook for helping with the breakfast at the Gansevoort Fire department. It was great to get out and help the community and join in the Christmas Spirit.

On Thursday, December 11, the Cadet Program held our annual Holiday Party, along with the promotion of two cadets—one to the rank of Lieutenant and one to the rank of Sergeant.

Thank you to Undersheriff Jeffrey R. Brown for attending the ceremony.

A huge thank you to Ravenswood Pub in Clifton Park for donating the delicious food for the Holiday Party, and another huge thank you to the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club for their continued generous support, which helps keep the program running.

Sunday 5/18 was an eventful day. The Explorer post 37 along with Under Sheriff Jeff Brown, Captain George Maxfield and Lt Matt Kavanagh went out to support the 1st Annual Anthony Stefanacci Memorial Gold Outing at the Van Patten Golf Course.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired Sergeant Mark Bruno.

Sergeant Bruno dedicated over 30 years of his life serving the residents of Saratoga County. He will be remembered as an enthusiastic, witty man who lead his men and women firmly but fairly. Sergeant Bruno could always provide a good laugh and loved bringing people together.

We would like to thank the Bruno Family for graciously choosing our program to receive donations in Sergeant Bruno’s memory. We will continue to lead the youth so that someday they too will follow in his footsteps.

We ask that you keep Sergeant Bruno’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time

Rest easy Sarge - your brothers and sisters have the watch from here. 💙💙

Our day started WAY before the sun rose and ended long after it set and in between, we had a great day at the NERLEEA SWAT tactical challenge. 6 of our Cadets competed against members of 17 other Posts in situations such as hostage extraction, active aggressor, tactical casualty combat care and other high risk scenarios that would require a SWAT team response. We are excited to say that Post 1st Sgt Wickham and Sgt Rafferty won 3rd place in the ambush response challenge!! We are proud of each and every one of the Cadets, not only from our Post, but from all the Posts who competed today. Thank you to the Nerleea board and advisors for organizing another great day of training, learning, and competing.
