UPDATE ON SPLASH PAD WATER FEATURE!!
We want to provide an update regarding the recent damage to one of the water features at the splash pad.
These features are not simply made of PVC. While PVC is used for the internal plumbing, the structures themselves are specialty commercial-grade features purchased from Rain Deck and professionally installed. They are designed specifically to spray water—not to be climbed on or used as playground equipment.
The individuals involved in hanging and climbing on the feature admitted to the damage, and the guardian gave us information to help with moving forward with repairs.
While the City of Ballinger does carry insurance to help cover incidents like this, we want to remind everyone that these features are not built to withstand that type of use. Misuse leads to costly damage and temporary loss of enjoyment for the entire community.
There are cameras at the city pool.
Most importantly, we are very grateful that no one was hurt.
We ask all parents and guardians to please help us by ensuring children use the splash pad equipment properly so everyone can continue to enjoy it safely.
