September is National Literacy Month, and Ms. Faith Gintz’s class is bringing The Odyssey to life! 📚🍇🧀

After finishing Book 9, students dove into character analysis by creating posters about Polyphemus, the Cyclops. To make the experience even more immersive, students enjoyed grapes and cheese inspired by the scene set in Polyphemus’s cave.

The class also listened to songs from EPIC: The Musical, which is based on The Odyssey, and discussed how the music connects to the events and characters they have been reading about.

Learning is always more memorable when you can experience the story in a whole new way!

Future leaders in action! Four of our THS JROTC cadets attended a special luncheon hosted by Louisiana State Representative District 27, Mike Johnson, and the North Rapides Business and Industry Alliance (NRBIA).

Our students joined fellow cadets from Buckeye and Pineville High to hear a State of the Guard Update from MG Thomas C. Friloux of the Louisiana National Guard.

🔬 Physics in action! Mrs. Williams’ class completed their first experiment yesterday! Students used the scientific method to explore the relationship between distance, time, and speed by testing different types of movement over two distances. They then analyzed their results using motion in one dimension. 📏⏱️🏃‍♂️
