Last night at the June 11,2026, City Council meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing City Manager Eric Wilmarth for an incredible 26 years of dedicated service to the City of Ball Ground. As Eric prepares for his retirement on June 26, 2026, we reflected on the tremendous impact he has made on our community through his leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to our city.
We were honored to welcome City of Canton City Manager Billy Peppers and downtown Ball Ground business owner Ryan Turnage, who both shared heartfelt remarks and spoke about Eric's many achievements and contributions throughout his distinguished career. We thank Eric for his years of service and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
The evening also included a special celebration of the America 250 Proclamation alongside the Hightower Trail Chapter, commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States and honoring our nation's rich history and enduring spirit.
Additionally, we were pleased to welcome Amanda Blackwell, the new principal of Ball Ground STEM Academy. Amanda took a moment to introduce herself and share her excitement about joining our community. We look forward to working together and supporting the continued success of our students and schools.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening as we celebrated service, community, and the bright future ahead for Ball Ground. ❤️
