⚠️ Press Release ⚠️

On September 3, 2026 an Agent with North Ms Narcotics Unit, attempted to stop a male subject on a motorized electric bike for equipment violations and traffic law violations near the park inside the city limits of Baldwyn. The male subject refused to stop and the short chase ended in a near by neighborhood. The subject was taken into custody without incident. Once the subject was taken into custody the Agent and Baldwyn officer searched the area and located a felony amount of alleged m**hamphetamine near the subject’s bike. The case is being investigated by North Ms Narcotics Unit and will be presented to Prentiss County Grand Jury and also misdemeanor charges will be presented to Baldwyn Municipal Court.

• Suspect was identified as 53 year old, Eric Lee Hoskins of Baldwyn

•Hoskins is being charged with possession of a controlled substance (m**h) and also Improper equipment, disregard for traffic control device, disorderly conduct, no turn signal and failure to yield to blue lights.

•Hoskins’ bond was set by Baldwyn Municipal Court Judge Hopkins for $15,000

The Baldwyn Police Department needs your help.
Gemma Todd, age 14 and Kylen Harper, age 14 has been reported as runaways . Gemma was last seen at her residence on Cemetery in Baldwyn, MS on 9-6-26.

This investigation remains active, and additional arrests are forthcoming, including adults who aided and assisted in these criminal activities. We are committed to holding everyone involved accountable.

⚠️Update⚠️ The juvenile has been located. Thank you to the Baldwyn community for coming together and helping.

Baldwyn Police Department

The Baldwyn Police Department is asking for the public's assistance regarding a runaway juvenile from Booneville who is currently in the Baldwyn area.

The juvenile is described as a light Skinned male with a slim build. He was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray hoodie, and no shoes.

The juvenile has broken into homes and vehicles and has also attempted to break into additional vehicles while in the Baldwyn area.

Over the past several days, the Baldwyn Police Department has acted on every tip received from the public and will continue to diligently investigate all information provided until the juvenile is located.

We appreciate the community's continued assistance and encourage anyone with information to please contact the Baldwyn Police Department .

Residents are urged to ensure that all homes, vehicles, garages, and other property remain locked and secured at all times.

If you see anyone matching this description or have information regarding the juvenile's whereabouts, please contact the Baldwyn Police Department immediately.

⚠️FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE⚠️

On May 26, 2026,the Baldwyn Police Department was dispatched to a possible house fire at 503 South Second Street in Baldwyn. Upon officers’ arrival, they observed heavy smoke coming from the top of the residence.
Officers immediately ensured that no one was inside the home and made contact with the male homeowner, who had been alerted by nearby neighbors and returned to the residence. After confirming the home was unoccupied, officers and the Baldwyn Fire Department noticed a power line in close proximity to the area where the smoke and fire were present. Officers then notified Prentiss County Electric Power Association, whose personnel responded to the scene.
Multiple surrounding fire agencies assisted the Baldwyn Fire Department in extinguishing the fire.
Chief Roy Ragin, Assistant Chief Cousins, and the entire Baldwyn Police Department extend their prayers and well wishes to the family as they recover from this unfortunate occurrence.
