Rest easy Chief. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and friends. Your passion and kind heart will be missed greatly. We know you will watch over us.

The Baldwinsville Fire Department regrets to inform you of the passing of Life member Claude Reith. Claude was a member of The Baldwinsville Fire Department for 62 years. In those years he held the titles of Vice President, Lieutenant, Captain, Safety Officer and Deputy Chief. His passing leaves a hole in many hearts. We pass on our most sincere condolences to the Reith family and friends during this difficult time.

Godspeed and rest easy Chief, we know you will watch over us and keep us safe!

Congratulations to one of our RAMs, Nathan Neyhart for successfully getting his EMT. A lot of dedication and hard work went into completing the course and passing the written and hands on state exam. Make sure to pat this guy on the back for a job well done.

It is with profound sadness that the officers and members of the Solvay Fire Department announce the passing of Past Chief David M. Bosco. Chief Bosco was not only a life member of our organization but a mentor and brother fireman that has left a lasting impression on the organization and those he served with. Dave had served in various roles throughout his service with the department including Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, and Chief of the department. In addition to volunteering with our department, Chief Bosco worked for the Village of Solvay Electric Department as a lineman and was a loving husband and father.

Chief Bosco passed away this morning at home surrounded by his family and loved ones after a several month battle with cancer. Please keep his family, friends, and our department in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through these tough times. We will post an update of when services will be held as details become available.

Fire Prevention Week is over. Don't let that stop you from being aware of hazards. Top fire hazards in homes are cooking, heating, and electrical issues. Did furnaces, chimneys, and wood stoves get inspected? In case of fire do you have a plan? 2 ways out of every room, a meeting place, working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms? Be diligent as fire can occur to anyone.
