TODAY IS THE DAY.

In his almost 50 years of ACTIVE service to the Baldwin Community with Hose Company One - Baldwin FD, he has FIRST-HAND knowledge of all aspects of the volunteer fire service here in Nassasu County.

As a 42 year dispatcher, he has FIRST-HAND knowledge of Fire Communications.

As a 40 year mechanic with Sanitary District #2, he has FIRST-HAND knowledge of apparatus and purchasing.

As a life-long Baldwinite, he has FIRST-HAND knowledge of every aspect of Baldwin, the BaldwinUFSD, and has worked closely with the brave officers of the Nassau County Police Department First Precinct.

As a member of the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, he consistently lends a hand with Baldwin community activities.

Joe is ready, willing and able to take on the task of Fire Commissioner here in Baldwin, but needs your help to win that seat. This election is contested - EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

Please come out this afternoon/evening to Baldwin Fire Department Headquarters at 2386 Grand Avenue (across from the library) and cast your vote for Ex-Chief Joseph Yanantuono.

To all Baldwin Residents,

Tomorrow, December 9th, the Baldwin Fire District will be holding a public vote for a new Fire Commissioner to serve a 5 year term. I am seeking your help to win that seat.

This is a contested election and every vote will count.

Whether I had the pleasure to speak to you while shopping around town, at a local school event, or at one of the recent Baldwin Chamber of Commerce events, I hope that I was able to impress upon you that not only am I fully qualified, but that I am ready, willing and able to take on this role and hit the ground running on day one.

My goals are simple: to provide the best tools, training and support for the members of the Baldwin Fire Department so that they can continue at the highest level of service that you have come to expect, all while staying fiscally responsible with tax payer money … I pay these taxes myself.

Please give me 5 minutes of your time tomorrow afternoon, and I will give you 5 years of EXPERIENCE and DEDICATION.

Polls are open from 2PM until 9PM on Tuesday, December 9th at Baldwin Fire Headquarters, 2386 Grand Avenue (across from the library). Doors will be open in the rear of the building.

Sunday morning breakfast at the firehouse is more than just a tradition, it’s essential.

Although the news is always on in the background, the discussions at the table always revolve around firefighting. We talk about the days past and where we’re headed in the future. We talk about training, techniques and equipment. We talk about what went right, and what went wrong at the last alarm. We talk about recruitment and, more importantly, retention. Most of all, by talking with our peers, we continue to learn.

I have had a seat at the breakfast table for the past 47 years. Now I’m asking for your help to secure a seat at the Board table.

I have listened to the concerns of the membership and offered advice for the entirety of my firefighting career. I am ready to hit the ground running, armed with the knowledge of what we need as a community of volunteers, as you will find me still on the front lines of almost any alarm.

The Baldwin Fire Department has had a long standing partnership with the BaldwinUFSD by educating our youth in safety and life saving techniques.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure to be in classrooms and working with our students all throughout the district on basic fire safety and CPR skills. In 1989, I had the pleasure of presenting the winners of our fire prevention poster contest with a certificate and our deepest appreciation for their hard work.

The biggest asset we have in fire safety is PREVENTION. I believe that teaching our youth these critical skills at a young age will help improve our overall safety.

If elected, I pledge to not only continue, but increase our community outreach and continue to strengthen the bond between the Fire District and our schools.
