Favorable weather conditions are in place today, Thursday April 23, 2026 for hazardous fuels reduction work in the Huron-Manistee NFs (HMNFs).
Rx burns are planned events matched to predetermined weather/fuel parameters. Scheduled activities may be cancelled, when conditions warrant. Updates including cancellations, additions and corrections will be added to this post.
Pending all required approvals, the HMNFs will burn the following unit(s) on the following Ranger Districts:
Baldwin Ranger District:
Pleasant Plains Twp. Lake County
🔥 Baldwin Fuels Unit 6 Rx (658 Acres); North of 64th Street, between South Jenks Road and South Peacock Trail. Afternoon Ignition Time.
Yates Twp. Lake County
🔥 Idlewild Fuels Unit 5 (113 Acres); South of E. 76th Street and east of S. Forman Road.
Cadillac/Manistee Ranger District:
Norman Twp. Manistee County
🔥Hoxeyville South (91 Acres); West of the intersection of Hoxeyville and 48 1/2 Roads, south of FR7335.
Huron Shores Ranger District:
Oscoda Twp,. Iosco County
🔥Iargo Unit 6 (158 Acres); South of Loud Pond on the Au Sable River and north of M65 River Road National Scenic Byway, between Allan and National City Roads.
