The City of Baldwin will host this year's Christmas parade this Saturday, December 6th. Due to the parade, many of the side streets within the city will be closed to allow safe passage of the parade down Willingham Ave. Starting at approximately 5:30 P.M., barricades will be placed along Willingham Ave at the following streets: Baldwin Falls Rd, Perry Manor Dr, Church St, Williams St, and Chatham St. Motorists in the Park Ave area can still enter or exit the area utilizing each end of Park Ave until the parade begins and again as soon as it is over. Motorists on the opposite side of Willingham Ave are asked to use Airport Rd toward Industrial Blvd to enter or leave the area. Since Heidel St, Parker St, Chandler St, and Winterberry Ln do not have a secondary means of exit, they will be shut down last, and only once the parade is ready to begin moving.
Emergency vehicles will have access to all areas and be able to respond quickly if needed. Once the parade begins, we expect the road closures to last approximately 30 minutes. We will make every effort to open all roads as quickly as safely possible.
The parade route is highlighted in yellow on the attached map. The parade will stage at Fieldale's corporate offices, travel down Willingham Ave, and end after turning onto Airport Rd. Parents needing to pick up children that participated in the parade, are asked to meet them at Baldwin CH Church (303 Airport Rd).
Please come out and join us for what is sure to be a fun Christmas parade.
