Baldwin Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 441, which resulted in a temporary closure of the roadway while firefighters worked to safely extinguish the fire and secure the scene.

Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Baldwin Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Cornelia Fire Department and Banks County Fire Department due to multiple incidents in Baldwin at that time. The mutual support between the departments allowed crews to work efficiently and safely to mitigate the incident and minimize the impact on traffic.

U.S. 441 was temporarily closed while emergency crews operated on the roadway. Once the scene was cleared and deemed safe, the roadway was reopened to traffic.

Baldwin Fire Department and Habersham Emergency Services responded to a motor vehicle accident on Willingham Avenue involving two vehicles, including one commercial vehicle.
Crews from both agencies worked together at the scene to address the incident and ensure the safety of those involved, emergency personnel, and passing motorists. The response highlighted the importance of the strong working relationship and mutual support between Baldwin Fire and Habersham Emergency Services.

Due to the location of the accident and the work required at the scene, Willingham Avenue was blocked for an extended period of time. Emergency crews worked efficiently to safely clear the roadway and restore normal traffic flow.

Willingham Avenue is now open to traffic.

Baldwin Fire Department would like to thank Habersham Emergency Services and all personnel involved for their cooperation, professionalism, and teamwork throughout the incident.

Our personnel responded to two structure fires during the storm throughout the night and into the early morning hours. Both fires were in Habersham County, where Baldwin has an automatic-aid agreement.

A lot of great teamwork was displayed throughout the night between the responding departments, demonstrating a strong commitment to protecting the citizens of our communities.

We are proud of our personnel and our mutual-aid partners for working together when our communities needed us most.

Station 4 was able to get some pump training in after dinner tonight.

Baldwin fireman are required to obtain 240 hours a year of training.

Station 4 B shift was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire next to a commercial business and beside a propane tank. E41 arrived on scene and found a vehicle with fire involvement in the engine compartment. The fire was quickly extinguished and all hazards mitigated before any further damage to any properties.

The members of the City of Baldwin Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and brothers and sisters of the Rockdale County Fire Department following the tragic loss of one of their firefighters.

Today, we join the fire service community in mourning a life dedicated to serving and protecting others. We honor their sacrifice, commitment, and unwavering dedication to their community.
