July is Bebe Moore Campbell BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month 🧡

This month honors the legacy of Bebe Moore Campbell and raises awareness of the unique mental health experiences and challenges faced by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

At Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services, we know that mental health care is most effective when it is compassionate, culturally responsive, and accessible to everyone. By encouraging open conversations and reducing stigma, we can help ensure every child, youth, and family feels seen, supported, and empowered to seek help when they need it.

Today, we celebrate Juneteenth. This holiday commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, TX, learned of their freedom. This date represents the official end of slavery in the United States of America.

Juneteenth is both a celebration of freedom and a time to reflect on our nation's history and the ongoing mission to attain equity in the communities we serve. It is because of the resilience and achievements of Black Americans that we, at Ettie Lee Youth and Family Services, create an environment that fosters growth and equality for all.
