Officer Vera brings over 16 years of combined military and law enforcement experience, having served with the U.S. Marines, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, and the Constable’s Office. He is also a proud Texas A&M University graduate. 🎓

With the addition of Officer Vera, our Patrol Division is now fully staffed 💪🏽

🎉 National Night Out 2025! 💙🚓

The Balcones Heights Police Department had an amazing time celebrating National Night Out!

We stopped by Baskin Elementary, SAISD 🏫 where we met some wonderful students, parents, and staff. We also enjoyed meeting the talented Leon Valley Ballet Folklorico group 💃 and chatting with Senator José Menéndez 🤝 — strengthening our intergovernmental relationships.

A special thank you to Councilman Jack Burton for joining BHPD and helping make this a memorable evening! 🌟

🌆 The celebration continued at City Hall! 🔥🚑

Residents joined us for a fun-filled evening featuring Balcones Heights Fire Department, Acadian Ambulance Texas, Chick-fil-A Balcones Heights and several other amazing vendors.

We had delicious food, and live music 🎵🎤. Guests also had the chance to experience our drunk driving simulator goggles 🥽🚗 — a powerful reminder of the dangers of impaired driving.

It was truly an incredible night of community, safety, and connection — thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! 🙌

🚨 Moments Ago, the Balcones Heights Police Department partnered with St. Gregory The Great Catholic School in an Active Shooter Drill.

The purpose of this exercise was to track response time, test communication between the alarm system, dispatch, and officers, evaluate coordination with school staff and identify areas for improvement.

✅ Proactive training like this is key to preventing tragedies and ensuring the safety of our students, school staff and community. 💙

Officer Scoggins brings numerous years of law enforcement experience, from serving in Fredericksburg and Boerne PD to leading a regional SWAT team. He now continues his service alongside his career in private security and training.
