The Belmont Hills Fire Company regrets to announce the passing of active firefighter, director, and life member, Francis “Fran” Burdo. Fran has served his country and community distinguishably for more than half a century. A veteran of the Vietnam War and United States Marine Corps, Fran followed in his family’s footsteps by joining our ranks in 1970. Fran passed away on Friday, September 4th. In addition to being an extremely valued member of the Belmont Hills Fire Company, and a local hero, Fran spent more than 30 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 98. Fran will be missed in the firehouse, board meetings, relief meetings, and around the neighborhood. Our thoughts and prayers are with Fran and his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well. Rest in Peace Fran ❤️🇺🇸

Please take a moment today to remember and celebrate the life of Captain Thomas Royds. Tommy was taken from us too soon five years ago today while operating at an accident with injuries on the Schuylkill Expressway. Today, firefighters who knew him, remember his laugh and smile, while firefighters who never met him, hear endless stories about him. While his loss is still felt today, members of our company are reminded of his sacrifice by the photos in the firehouse, and the signs on the highway where he was taken, that have been named in his honor.

While you celebrate our Country’s 250th birthday and independence from England, please take a second to remember Firefighter Sean W. DeMuynck. Sean was killed 5 years ago after being injured fighting a house fire on the night of July 4th 2021.

The golf outing was a huge success. We appreciate all of our sponsors and the participants that made Monday a great time.

What a day we had yesterday at the Belmont Hills Fire Company Inaugural Golf Outing!! Mother Nature truly couldn’t make up her mind. We saw sleet, hail, wind, rain, and just about everything in between, but that didn’t stop us one bit.

Our volunteers showed up with heart, teamwork, and unstoppable energy. Everyone came together seamlessly to keep the day running smoothly, no matter what the sky threw at us. It was a great reminder of the strength of our community and the spirit behind this event.
