A few of our faculty and staff members attended the event to show their support and celebrate this exciting milestone. We would like to congratulate the Women's Business Center once again on its grand re-opening and wish them continued success in serving entrepreneurs and small business owners in our community.

Hello `Runners!

We want to share that CSUB and OpenAI have announced SPARKS (Students Partnering with AI for Regional Knowledge and Service), a groundbreaking program that will give students the opportunity to work directly with OpenAI engineers on projects that address real-world challenges in the region.

The program will launch in Fall 2026 and will be open to students from a variety of academic disciplines.

We would also like to congratulate Dr. Milad Pira, who is one of three CSUB faculty members selected to pilot the program in their classrooms by adapting existing courses to include AI-powered, project-based assignments tied to real-world challenges facing Kern County. We also congratulate Dr. Liaosha Song and Dr. Michael Ault on being selected for this initiative.

As part of the program, Dr. Pira's project will focus on the creation of the Kern County Community Stakeholder AI Lab, centered on business, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Hi `Runners!

We want to congratulate Dr. Milad Pira on the recent publication of Sustainable Business Practices and Social Entrepreneurship: Innovations and Impact, which he edited. We also want to recognize Dr. Sumita Sarma and Dr. John B Stark for their contributions to the book.

Dr. Sarma co-authored the chapter "Uncertainty in Sustainable Entrepreneurship" alongside Dr. Pira and also co-authored "Applying Gandhian Ethical Framework to Business Pedagogy and Research" with Dr. Stark.

Congratulations to Dr. Pira, Dr. Sarma, and Dr. Stark on this outstanding achievement!
