Exceptional Family Center

Exceptional Family Center Exceptional Family Center is committed to helping families of children w/developmental disabilities

Exceptional Family Center was founded in 2007 by a group of parents and professionals, who recognized the need for a center that would be culturally sensitive to the unique needs of our diverse community. Our center was created to provide families, who have children with a developmental disability, with the tools and resources necessary to help their children succeed. What began as an annual conference soon turned into a center, that today, assists over 300 families.

💙 Why Volunteer? Because one day can make a lasting difference.

Every smile, every helping hand, and every act of kindness helps create an unforgettable day for individuals with disabilities and their families.

When you volunteer at HEROES 4 HEARTS & Buddy Walk, you're not just helping with an event—you become part of a community that believes in inclusion, acceptance, and celebrating every ability.

As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to:
⭐ Make a meaningful impact
🤝 Meet new people and connect with your community
🌱 Build leadership and teamwork skills
😊 Create memories you'll never forget
❤️ Be part of something bigger than yourself

Whether you're volunteering on your own, with friends, your family, or a group, we'd love to have you join our team.

Caregivers deserve support, too. 🙌

The Arc of California is proud to announce the return of the National Disability Caregivers Conference, a FREE, two-day virtual event taking place October 6-7, 2026.

This year, we're excited to partner with Caring Across Generations to bring together family caregivers, self-advocates, professionals, and experts from across the country for two days of education, connection, and practical resources that support every stage of the caregiving journey.

💙 Registration opens in September.

BECOME A CONFERENCE SPONSOR! 🙏

We're currently seeking corporate, foundation, individual and community partners who share our commitment to supporting family caregivers of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As a sponsor, you'll help keep this national educational event free and accessible while demonstrating your organization's commitment to strengthening families and building more inclusive communities.

Interested in becoming a sponsor? We'd love to connect.
