Summer opportunity for high school students !

An exciting opportunity awaits students interested in getting their foot in the door with the City this summer!
Applications are now being accepted for the City Hall Summer Internship!
Part of the Bakersfield Youth Jobs Program, the paid eight-week internship is open to those 16-18 years old and provides administrative experience in various City departments.
The deadline to apply is April 17.
The program is administered by the Kern Community Foundation and is made possible thanks to funding from California Volunteers.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this message. Sadly Mr. Akins, one of our beloved teachers, passed away January 19th. He was a fantastic teacher and an even better human. A memorial service has been planned for Monday February 3rd at 11:00 am at Valley Baptist Church located at 4800 Fruitvale Ave. I know many of Mr. Akins's students past and present have been asking about services so please know that anyone that wishes to attend will be welcome.
