School is BACK IN SESSION!
This past week the heat of the summer has been felt all across Kern County. Make sure you're staying hydrated and keeping safe under shade, and to take breaks often if you're having fun under the hot sun. If you're tired of plain ol' water, add some fresh or frozen fruits to add some flavor to your cup!
A go-to recipe for for us is this Berry Blasted Water!
INGREDIENTS
For this recipe you can use store-bought frozen mixed berries OR freeze your own.
1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries and blueberries)
Preparation
1. Add all ingredients plus enough cold water to fill a 2-quart pitcher. Chill overnight in the refrigerator for the most flavor, and store in the refrigerator until ready to drink. The fruit will stay fresh in the water for up to 48 hours after being prepared.
2. After you drink the water, you can eat the fruit or blend it into a smoothie.
TIP: Create your own fruit ice. Put fruit slices in an ice cube tray, pour water on top and freeze for a quick and easy addition to water.
Stay cool out there!
