The farm was established to provide a relevant approach to agriculture through hands-on learning. For almost 3 decades, students have learned skills and knowledge ranging from construction, production agriculture, forrestry, biology, and ornamental horticulture. Students are provided with opportunities to establish their own business by utilizing the farm such as growing and selling plants or crop
s and raising livestock. Students are never shy of opportunities to learn and grow as productive citizens of this great community. Over 10,000 students have utilized this community farm and gone on to appreciate where their food comes from and the efforts of millions of people to create the food we eat. We are a program that relies primarily on community support to assist in keeping our farm up and going. There are many needs to improve, fix, and construct new projects on the farm and we are reaching out for any help we can find, both financially or with materials to do the job. Projects include, but are not limited to, fixing the roofs of our barns, installing irrigation for grass, landscaping the slopes of the farm, finishing a shadehouse structure, purchasing mobile storage units, installing a nice entrance to the farm, and laying asphalt on the driveway. If you can help us check off any of these items on our list, we would love to hear from you.
