CHP Bakersfield Holiday Enforcement Period (HEP) results:

•Speeding citations: 262
•Seatbelt citations: 79
•DUI arrests: 32
•All other citations: 182

During the final hours of our HEP the driver of the Dodge pictured above was traveling southbound on SR-99, south of Airport Drive at 134 mph. The driver was stopped and consequently arrested for reckless driving and the Dodge was impounded.

We want to urge drivers to slow down, drive responsibly, and never drive impaired.

Today, Commanders from the Bakersfield and Mojave Area attended a Memorial Day Event at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.

This Memorial Day, the California Highway Patrol honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

As you spend time with family and friends this holiday weekend, please travel safely, drive responsibly, and never drive impaired. Let’s all do our part to make sure everyone gets home safely.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend is here, and the California Highway Patrol is reminding everyone to buckle up and drive safely as the summer travel season begins.

The CHP’s Holiday Enforcement Period runs from Friday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m. through Monday, May 25 at 11:59 p.m. Officers will be on patrol statewide looking for reckless and impaired drivers while promoting seat belt safety.

Last Memorial Day weekend, CHP officers made over 1,100 DUl arrests statewide and investigated 22 fatal crashes. Tragically, many of those killed were not wearing seat belts.

She has shown exceptional dedication, professionalism, and selfless service over the past 12 years as a member of the Bakersfield Area Senior Volunteer Program. During that time she has contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours.

Yesterday, we hosted our annual Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony and also joined Bakersfield Police and the Kern County Sheriffs Office. We all came together to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Their courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten. We also recognize the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their legacy forward each day.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us pay tribute to our fallen heroes. 💙💛

🚓🏍️On April, 23rd a couple of your CHP Bakersfield area motor officers participated in a motor competition.

The Tri-City Motor Rodeo Competition held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena brought together some of the best motor officers to showcase their precision, skill, and control on two wheels. From tight turns to challenging obstacle courses, these riders demonstrated the dedication and training it takes to keep our communities safe every day.
