👟🎒 MERCY HOUSE IS SHOWING UP FOR OUR COMMUNITY!
Mercy House is proud to support the Leticia Perez Back-to-School Community Event with a mass donation of shoes to help local students step into the new school year with confidence! ❤️

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and confident. Something as simple as a new pair of shoes can make a BIG difference in a child’s life—and we’re honored to be part of making that difference. 👟✨

This donation is more than just shoes—it’s a reminder to our community that we see you, we support you, and we’re in this together.

A Memorable Day at the Brundage Lane Navigation Center
Yesterday, BLNC was honored to host a special Flag Raising Ceremony, celebrating unity, service, and community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to VFW Post 7216 Bakersfield for their generous donation of our beautiful American flag. Your gift is a lasting symbol of hope, freedom, and the values we strive to uphold every day.

A special thank you to The American Legion Post 26 and Justina Cruz-Howell for helping make this meaningful ceremony possible. Your partnership and commitment to our community are deeply appreciated.

We are also incredibly grateful to Mayor Karen Goh for joining us and for her continued support of Mercy House and the Brundage Lane Navigation Center. Your presence reinforces the importance of coming together to support our neighbors and strengthen our community. To everyone who attended and helped make this event so special—thank you. We are proud to raise this flag as a symbol of hope, dignity, and new beginnings for every individual who walks through our doors.

Please join us as we proudly celebrate the incredible achievements of Jose, Alexandra, Kiesha, and Juan for successfully completing the Culinary Arts Program at the Brundage Lane Navigation Center (BLNC)!

Over the past 10 weeks, these dedicated graduates committed themselves to a rigorous 120-hour culinary training program, demonstrating perseverance, determination, and a passion for learning. Through hard work and resilience, they mastered new skills, overcame challenges, and stayed the course all the way to graduation.

This accomplishment represents more than just completing a program—it symbolizes growth, opportunity, and the courage to invest in a brighter future. We are incredibly proud of each graduate and all they have achieved.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals and partners who helped make this program possible. Thank you to Mayor Karen Goh, Councilman Andrae Gonzalez, Kole Quezada, representing Congressman David Valadao, our outstanding culinary instructors, dedicated staff, board members and community supporters who have encouraged and invested in our guests every step of the way.

Your support helps create opportunities that empower individuals to gain valuable skills, build confidence, and move toward self-sufficiency.

This week the men at the Brundage Lane Navigation Center (BLNC) were reminded just how valued and appreciated they are, thanks to the incredible team from Milan Institute. Milan's talented students generously gave their time and skills to provide haircuts and manicures for our guests. While the services themselves were wonderful, what they truly provided was so much more than a fresh haircut or clean nails—they provided dignity, confidence, encouragement, and care. Moments like these remind our men that they are seen, valued, and worthy of celebrating. The smiles, conversations, and renewed sense of self-confidence created throughout the day made a lasting impact on everyone involved.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers and father figures at BLNC and beyond. We were honored to celebrate you.
