Nothing Takes The Place of Face to Face

I started this community talk series because I wanted to connect with my friends--and soon to be friends--in the community in which we live. So much of our time is spent in the little boxes in which we live and work as we toil in front of a screen. (How else can I get this message to y’all?!) Making eye contact, interacting, sharing a smile or a nod, or better, a hug with another human is where it’s at. We are here to lift one another up to shine our light and experience all the love that is around us. We need merely to open our hearts and minds. Rumi said, I’ll paraphrase: “Ours is not to seek love, but to remove the barriers within ourselves we have built against it.”
