🌎 World Hunger Day: The End of Hunger is in Our Hands

Every family deserves access to healthy, nutritious food — including seafood.

This week, we’re building a Wall of Hands for World Hunger Day May 28, 2026. With each donation, another hand is added to the wall — symbolizing hope, compassion, and nutritious meals shared with families in need. Can we add your hand to our wall?

Our goal is to raise $5,000 by the end of May, enough to help provide 30,000 seafood servings nationwide.

This Earth Day we join communities around the world in celebrating the theme “Our Power, Our Planet” — a reminder that meaningful change begins with collective action and sustainable solutions. Earth Day 2026 marks the 56th anniversary of the global environmental movement.

Our planet, and especially our oceans, provide one of the most nutritious food sources available: seafood. At SeaShare, we believe the ocean’s abundance should nourish people, not go to waste. Every day, we work with the seafood industry to ensure high-quality, sustainable seafood reaches food banks and families facing food insecurity across the country.

On this Earth Day, we give thanks for the planet that sustains us and for the partners who help turn seafood into healthy meals for those who need it most💙🐟

It’s time to highlight some of our amazing supporters in the first quarter of 2026!

These companies have made a huge impact on the communities they serve. Our work of feeding high quality seafood to neighbors in need would not be possible without their support!

We are grateful to have received the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines Member Impact Fund Award in collaboration with Columbia Bank. This award will provide an investment of $17,500 in our Alaska communities and help support nutritious seafood to those who need it the most.

We also received $20,000 from Norwegian Cruise Line! When just $1 can be turned into 6 servings of seafood, these funds go a long way! Thank you!

Right now, hunger is rising—and fish donations are not keeping pace.

So far, 2026 donations are trending behind where we need them to be to meet demand from food banks. At the same time, seafood is often one of the first items to run out at food banks due to high demand and limited supply.

Seafood companies play a critical role in getting nutritious protein to food banks. If you have product available we’d welcome the opportunity to turn that seafood into meals for families in need.

Take a look at where seafood donations reached communities thus far in 2026. Is your state represented? You can make a direct impact in the community you live in by donating fish. Each donation represents nutritious meals getting to people who need them most.

Thank you so much to SeaShare and Taku Fisheries for their donation of 10,000 lbs of Alaskan Coho earlier this year. The Coho has been a big hit and will continue to feed our neighbors throughout the spring.
