🌳 Stay Tick-Safe, Huron County! 🌳

Huron County is currently classified as a County with Known Risk for Lyme Disease. This means our area has seen at least two confirmed local exposures or the presence of ticks carrying the Lyme bacteria.

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself:

Know the Habitat: Ticks are most common in wooded and brushy areas.

Check for Ticks: After spending time outside, do a full-body check. Remember, ticks can be as small as a nymph or larva (smaller than a poppy seed!)

Gear Up: Wear DEET repellent and light-colored clothing to make spotting ticks easier.

MI Trees update
The DNR has pledged to plant 50 million trees by 2030, and you can help. Every tree you plant and track on the MI Trees interactive map will add to the current 29.6 million trees already planted by the DNR and other residents like you! The DNR is a cooperative partner in achieving the global goal of restoring and growing 1 trillion trees by 2030 through the global Trillion Trees campaign, administered in the U.S. as ForestsPlus.

Join our campaign to plant 50 million trees by 2030!
