Yesterday evening, I had the pleasure of speaking at USC as part of a panel discussion on local government!

I was joined by Duarte Mayor Pro Tem Samuel Kang and former Mayor of South Pasadena, Richard Schneider. Moderated by Professor Sergio Gonzalez, Azusa City Manager.

Over the course of three hours, we explored a wide range of topics, including the homeless crisis, public perception, emergency services, transparency, the role of social media, and the skills and qualities required for effective city leadership.
A hot topic of discussion was the growing number of unfunded mandates from the State of California promoting higher-density housing, and the ripple effects these policies have on surrounding communities and overall quality of life. Overall, a great class of students and no doubt, some future leaders.
