✨ Exciting News for Trail Visitors! ✨
We’re thrilled to share that new directional signage has been installed along the White Lick Trail and throughout Blue Heron Park!
Thanks to generous grants from Duke Energy and the Parks Foundation of Hendricks County we’ve officially completed the first phase of our Trail Safety & Signage Project. This project was designed to improve wayfinding for trail users and provide a clear system to help first responders quickly locate 911 callers in emergencies. What does this mean for you?
👟 Large wayfinding signs featuring color-coded trail maps, distances, “You Are Here” markers, and QR codes linking to a web based map
👟 Color-coded mile markers placed every quarter mile
👟 Coordinated trail striping across more than 5 miles of trail
👟 Directional signage connecting Blue Heron Park and the White Lick Trail
👟 Signage guiding you to Apex and the Foundation ballfields
👟 Landmark signage with names at all park shelters
👟 Newly named trails throughout Blue Heron Park
