I am sorry for taking so long to make a formal announcement. Through a heavy heart and eyes blurred by tears, I regret informing you that Sheri Stein-Blum passed away on Wednesday, September 7th, at the age of 49. Our son Aidan and I were holding her hands while she left this plane. Her sudden passing has left an insurmountable hole in our family and that of the Speech-Language Pathology community. It does not matter what the exact natural cause of her passing was but that she was taken away from us and her clients way too early. A memorial service will be held in Davie, Florida at Temple Beth El Memorial Gardens - 4900 Griffin Road sometime in mid-December (12th - 23rd). When those plans are finalized, I will let you know the exact date and time.
Sheri gave 100% of herself to her clients/patients, their families, and the speech community at large. Always smiling with her rosy cheeks and making sure that everyone progressed in communication, in life, and in their profession. With that in mind, we started a non-profit foundation called the Blum Family Foundation in 2015. Its dual focus is educating people and governments about kidney disease and organ transplantation, due to my kidney/transplant journey. The second focus concentrated on educating people and governments about communications disorders and providing needed equipment and services for those unable to afford them, such as AAC devices, hearing aids, and speech-therapy.
Thank you for all your prayers, sympathies, and well wishes. Sheri would stop us and simply say, "life moves on, suck it up and move forward". I am trying to do that, but Aidan and I need your help. Please help us continue her legacy by donating to our foundation in her memory. Donations can be made in the following ways:

Thank you,
Jay & Aidan
