For this , we're talking about Ohio's cutest residents - the ones you may see curled up in your backyard around this time of year🦌

You may be asking yourself, "what do I do if I see a baby animal left alone in my yard?" (Great question by the way). Here are some things you need to know:
- Wildlife parents often leave their nest or young in a location they consider safe while they forage or hunt nearby.
- A parent is almost always nearby and will come back as needed to feed and care for them.
- The best thing for you to do is keep your distance (and be proud that your yard feels safe for wildlife!)

🚧 HEADS UP! 🚧

The I-90 westbound ramps to SR 611 and SR 254, WILL BE CLOSED TONIGHT June 3, from 8:30 pm to 5:00 am for pavement repairs. Crews will be working on entrance and exit ramps and motorists will not be able to get off or on at either of the roads tonight. Please plan ahead!

SRO Bergen is doing his part to make sure students at Heritage School know the rules of the road when it comes to electric bicycles, scooters, e-motos, and electric dirt bikes.

Parents, we need your help. Before purchasing one of these vehicles, please make sure you understand the laws and regulations that apply to them before sending your children out to ride this summer.

Recently, Avon City Council passed new legislation requiring anyone under the age of 16 to wear a helmet while operating or riding a motorized bicycle, electric bicycle, motorized scooter, or electric scooter. (Ordinance 416.13)

It is also important to understand that e-motos and electric dirt bikes are NOT electric bicycles. They are classified and regulated the same as traditional dirt bikes. These vehicles are intended for off-road use only unless they are properly registered through the BMV and operated by a licensed driver.

E-motos and electric dirt bikes are never permitted on sidewalks, walking paths, or in our parks.

Please take a few minutes to review the rules with your children so everyone can enjoy a safe and fun summer.

Tomorrow morning is the annual Eagle Run! 🦅🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍➡️

This means that will be some road closures. 😕

Other than some small inconveniences on the side streets, the major roadway affected will be Stoney Ridge Rd. It will be shutdown between Kinzel Rd and Tom's Country Place (just south of Harriman Trl). The shutdown will occur between 8 am and 11 am.

Please plan your travel accordingly during those times. 😀

UPDATE - I-90 Major Reconstruction Project - On Thursday, May 21, from 8:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., I-90 westbound will be reduced to one lane of traffic from SR 83 to SR 254. During this time, all traffic will have to use the left lane, and the SR 611 and SR 254 exit ramps will be closed.
- - Night work will begin Tuesday, May 26 to Friday, May 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. so crews can perform pavement repairs along I-90 east/west from just west of SR 83 to the Ohio Turnpike/SR 2 split. A further breakdown of the scheduled work is below:
- - - - Tuesday, May 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. – Closure of the I-90 westbound right lane from just west of SR 83 to the SR 57 exit ramp. The I-90 westbound left lane will remain open to traffic. During this time, the ramps at SR 611, SR 254 and SR 57 will be closed to motorists.
- - - - Wednesday, May 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. – Closure of the I-90 westbound left lane from just west of SR 83 to the I-90/SR 2 split. The I-90 westbound right lane will remain open to traffic. During this time, all ramps at SR 611, SR 254, and SR 57 will remain open to motorists.
- - - - Thursday, May 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. – Closure of the I-90 eastbound left lane. Traffic eastbound will be maintained in the right lane and all ramps will remain open.
- - - - Friday, May 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. - Closure of the I-90 eastbound left lane. Traffic eastbound will be maintained in the right lane and all ramps will remain open.
