The 43rd Annual NJ Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics rolled through Avon this morning. Our officers proudly participated in the run, carrying the “Flame of Hope”. The Law Enforcement Torch Run serves as the kickoff event for the 2026 Special Olympics.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to our newest Class II Special Police Officer, Trevor Hendrickson!

This afternoon, Chief Garrity, Captain Pecelli, Sgt Riley and Ptlm Lynch had the privilege of attending the graduation ceremony for the Monmouth County Police Academy's 61st Basic Class for Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers, held at Brookdale Community College.

Special Officer Hendrickson has already been serving our community as a Class I Special Officer, and is excited and ready to begin his new role as a Class II Officer.

We offer our sincere congratulations to Trevor and to all the members of the 61st graduating class. Please stay safe out there!
