****UPDATE****
Lake Rd will continue to be closed from Brookfield to State Route 83 for up to 12 hours. A main power line running from south of Lake Rd to the north side of Lake Rd needs replaced and this will be a labor intensive job.
CEI has a crew with the ability to accomplish this on the way.
In addition, there will be no access to Lake Rd. From the city pool, you must use Electric Blvd. to access and exit the pool.
Please continue to avoid this section of Lake Rd. so crews can get this job completed and be able to reopen the roadway as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation

****ROAD CLOSURE****
Due to an early morning, single car accident, Lake Rd Westbound is currently closed between Brookfield and State Route 83 to avoid low hanging power lines.
This closure applies to vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic.
CEI, Brightspeed, and Spectrum have all been notified and we will notify you when the road is open.
Thank you for avoiding the area to let these crews work to reopen the roadway.

This male husky is waiting for his family to pick him up. Call or stop by the department so we can get him back home

, Union Pacific's famed Big Boy No. 4014, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will journey through Lorain County as part of its historic coast-to-coast tour to celebrate .

Big Boy is scheduled to pass through Lorain near W. 11th St. and Reid Ave. on Monday, June 8, with an arrival time of 11:15 a.m. EDT and a departure time of 11:30 a.m. EDT. You can track this historic steam engine's journey online at https://www.up.com/about-us/history/steam/track.

Monday's parade will follow the same route as last year. Route map in comments.

City buildings will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. The annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremony at Veterans' Memorial Park at approximately 10:40 a.m.

🗑️ There will be no trash pickup on Memorial Day. Pickup will be delayed one day rest of the week. 250 Jubilee
