Now that the last month (March) for no late fees has passed, it looks like the due date for the ONLINE ONLY billing has not been reflecting the set due date of the 15th of each month, as the mailed bills say.
If you paid your April bill after April 15, a late fee was added to your account, but AS A ONE-TIME COURTESY, WE WILL REMOVE THIS LATE FEE FOR THOSE WHO PAID ONLINE AFTER April 15th.
In the future, please refer to the printed & mailed postcard bills for your due date, which is the 15th of each month. (It is found on the right-hand side of the card, in the blue box!)
Thank you for patience with this newest issue. We will get this corrected as quickly as possible.

Boil Water Notice for Avery Public Water Systems
May 28, 2026

Due to a power outage causing a pressure drop, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the Avery public water system to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions).

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the public water system officials will notify customers that the water is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact John Richardson, Public Works Supervisor for the City of Avery, 250 U.S Highway 82-Business Avery, Texas 75554, at (903)933-1100.

Although the Texarkana Water Utilities website says this is not true, the City of Annona was contacted by officials from TWU to say there is an issue with their system, and graciously notified us of that contact. We would rather err on the side of caution when it comes to our people so we have also issued a Boil Water Notice.
Thank you for understanding. Once we have clarification and/or a resolution, we will update!
