🚨 HUNTING SEASON IS HERE — PLEASE DRIVE WITH EXTRA CAUTION! 🦌

Autryville Fire Department wants to remind everyone that hunting season is underway, and drivers should be especially alert for deer near roadways. Deer may move unexpectedly across roads, particularly around wooded areas, fields, and hunting locations.

Here are a few reminders to help keep everyone safe:

- 🚗 Slow down, especially during dawn, dusk, and nighttime hours.
- 👀 Stay alert and watch the sides of the road for movement.
- 🦌 Expect the unexpected. If you see one deer, be alert for others nearby.
- ⚠️ If a deer enters your path, brake firmly when safe and avoid sudden swerving that could cause you to lose control.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HIT A DEER OR ARE INVOLVED IN A CRASH:

1. Pull over to a safe location, turn on your hazard lights, and check yourself and your passengers for injuries.
2. Call 911 if anyone is injured, there is an immediate danger, or a vehicle is blocking traffic.
3. Do not approach or touch an injured deer. It may be frightened and dangerous.
4. If another vehicle is involved, exchange information and document the damage when it is safe to do so.
5. Contact law enforcement when required and notify your insurance company.

Please share this reminder with family and friends. A few extra seconds of caution can help prevent a serious crash.

From all of us at Autryville Fire Department — stay alert, slow down, and get home safely!

Drive safe. Get home. 🚒

I just wanted to take a moment and personally thank everyone who came out and supported our Coastal Beach Run this weekend.

When we first started planning this event, we hoped it would be something people would enjoy, but seeing the turnout, the fellowship, and the support from everyone exceeded anything we could have imagined.

Whether you registered a vehicle, bought raffle tickets, donated, volunteered, sponsored the event, or simply came out to spend the day with us, thank you. Every person who participated helped make this event a success.

One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing everyone lined up at the fire department that morning, then watching the convoy make its way to the coast. Throughout the day there were smiles, conversations, new friendships made, and a lot of memories created. That’s what this event was really about.

I am grateful for the support our community continues to show the Autryville Fire Department. Events like this remind us how fortunate we are to serve such a great group of people.

We learned a lot this year, and thanks to all of you, we’re already talking about ways to make next year’s Beach Run even bigger and better.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for spending your day with us, supporting our department, and helping us continue our mission of serving the community.

Please share your photos from the event and tag the Autryville Fire Department or use . We’d love to see the day through your eyes.

Thank you again, and we hope to see all of you back next year.
