This Pride Month, we're sharing a clip from Changes: The Transs*xuals, Part I (1979), a Houston television news special featuring transgender Texans speaking about their experiences growing up, navigating gender dysphoria, and finding language for their identities.

At a time when transgender voices were rarely featured in mainstream media, programs like this documented personal stories that might otherwise have been lost to history.

By preserving and sharing footage like this, TAMI helps ensure that Texas LGBTQ+ history remains accessible for future generations.

👻 Who ya gonna call? Happy 42nd anniversary to Ghostbusters!

In this archival interview with Bill Murray, conducted by Roy Faires for Austin KVUE-TV, Murray reflects on how the massive success of Ghostbusters sparked a deeper appreciation for filmmaking as a collaborative art form. Do you have old video equipment collecting dust? It could help preserve Texas history!

TAMI is currently looking for legacy playback equipment and cleaning tapes used to digitize historic film and video formats before they’re lost forever. As this technology becomes harder to find, community donations make a huge impact on our preservation work.
