This is a child doing exactly what they need to do. 🧡

Up to 90% of autistic individuals experience sensory processing differences — meaning the brain receives input from sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell differently than neurotypical brains. What feels like background noise to us can feel like a fire alarm to them. A gentle touch can feel overwhelming. A busy room can feel like chaos.

Sensory breaks aren't indulgence. They're regulation. They're healing. They're necessary.
If you see a child taking a moment to step away, breathe, and reset — that's a child who knows what they need. And that deserves to be celebrated, not corrected.

Our May Staff Spotlight is Tianna!!!!

What her director has to say...
"Tianna has been an incredible part of our clinic team for the past 3 years, and the impact she has made on both our staff and clients is truly unmatched. She consistently demonstrates what it means to be our top-tier RBT through her dedication, compassion, professionalism, and unwavering support. Tianna is someone others naturally trust and confide in. She has earned the title of our “Pairing Queen” because of her amazing ability to build meaningful rapport with every client she works with. She brings love, passion, consistency, and dedication into everything she does. Her presence makes our team stronger, our clients more successful, and our clinic feel like home. We are so grateful for everything she brings to ART!!"

What Tianna has to say...
"Hello! My name is Tianna, I love ABA because I love getting to know the kiddos and teaching them to grow to the best of their ability. Seeing the progress in these kids is so rewarding and makes me happy that I am able to play such a huge role in their lives to be able to do everyday skills. These kiddos are my WHY, they are why I am here and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love ART. It is an amazing environment, and I’ve been blessed to be able to grow within my time here. From the staff, the kids, and the parents they have all made it such an incredible experience the 3 years I have been here. I have been blessed with the best, I LOVE my team!"

Every climb starts with one brave reach at ART!

This student isn’t just conquering a jungle gym — they’re rewriting what’s possible for themselves.

Did you know? Many autistic individuals have exceptional spatial awareness and body coordination, making physical challenges like climbing a powerful way to build confidence, sensory regulation, and strength — one rung at a time. 💪

New heights look different for everyone. Today’s climb is tomorrow’s breakthrough. ✨
Celebrate every single step. 🌟

When a Great White shows up, you know it’s going to be a good day. 🦈

Research shows that regular physical activity can significantly reduce anxiety and improve focus, attention, and mood in children with autism — and honestly? Nothing says “let’s move” like chasing a shark around.

These kids didn’t need a structured gym class. They needed joy with a side of cardio. 💙

Movement isn’t just exercise for neurodivergent kids — it’s regulation, connection, and confidence all rolled into one epic shark attack. 🌊

Find what makes them run, jump, and laugh out loud. Then do more of that. ✨

Every child builds their own world, one block at a time. 🧱

Did you know? 1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder — and play-based activities like building with blocks are among the most powerful tools for developing motor skills, focus, and creativity in children of all abilities. 💙

This little builder is proof that the best learning happens when kids are simply allowed to be kids.

🌟 Celebrate every stack, every tumble, every rebuild.

Chalk-stained hands and a masterpiece in the making 🎨

The best classroom doesn’t always have four walls. When kids take their creativity outside, something shifts — they breathe deeper, think bigger, and learn without even realizing it.

Outside play isn’t a break from learning. It’s where some of the best learning actually happens. Let them draw, explore, get messy, and figure things out on their own terms.

Sometimes, the most powerful moments in therapy aren’t the breakthroughs — they’re the pauses. 🌿
At our Teen and Adolescent Clinic in Frisco, we believe in the quiet power of sensory engagement. These Sensory Tiles aren’t just a tool — they’re a touchpoint. A way for our older teen clients to ground themselves, reset, and reconnect with the present moment.
Consistent, balanced exposure to sensory experiences like these are at the heart of what we do. Because healing doesn’t always look like a conversation. Sometimes, it looks like running your fingers across a textured surface and simply… breathing. 🧠✨
This is the kind of intentional care we’re committed to bringing into every clinic we build.

Our April Staff Spotlight is Agostina!!!

What her Director has to say about her:

"Agostina, our academic instructor and RBT, is a graduate student at TWU. She is dedicated to teaching academics using ABA strategies. Agostina is passionate about effective treatment for the kids she works with. She shows her dedication through her fluent implementation of ABA and academics. Agostina loves helping her fellow RBTs by training incoming technicians and providing assistance whenever needed. Agostina is creative with teaching and makes learning fun. She is a joy to be around and this is easily seen in the excitement every kid and staff member shows when working with her."

What Agostina has to say about ABA:
"Working in ABA is very fulfilling and it’s wonderful getting to work with other techs to help the kids advance! Getting to work with the kids, getting to know them, and ultimately seeing their progress overtime is very rewarding! Even though I am the one helping them learn, they also teach me so much and help me grow as a person daily!”

His mind doesn’t just notice the world — it remixes it.

This is what autism looks like at ART. Not a limitation. A different frequency. One that picks up melodies the rest of us walk right past without a second thought. 🎶
Every single day, they remind us to actually listen to the world around us.

The music is always there. They just hear it differently!
