The Women's Health Caucus is organized to promote the following principles related to women's health:
1) Every woman should have access to basic preventive health care services, including a physical examination, screening for diabetes, hypertension, anemia, kidney disease or infection, sexually transmitted diseases, breast and cervical cancer; and access to the full range of FDA approved methods
of contraception;
2) State and federal funding should be adequate to ensure that low-income women have access to preventive women’s health care services;
3) Every woman should be allowed to make personal reproductive health care decisions based on her own faith and in consultation with her own physician and her family;
4) The basic, minimal health insurance plans should include the full range of preventive health care services for women and prescriptive contraceptive supplies; and
5) Every woman should have information and access to services related to domestic and sexual violence, and sexual assault survivors should receive the set of services recommended by the World Health Organization, including information about and the provision of emergency contraceptives if she wants them
