Austin is proud to serve as the host city for this year’s Urban Land Institute (ULI) Hines Student Competition, with Hancock Center selected as the 2026 competition site just north of downtown.
Last week, we gathered at The University of Texas at Austin to celebrate seven interdisciplinary student teams representing The University of Texas at Austin in this prestigious competition—an especially strong showing for our local university community. Attendees had the opportunity to view student proposals, connect with ULI Austin member advisors, and celebrate the announcement of results from UT Austin’s internal competition, reviewed by an industry jury that included ULI Austin members.
Congratulations to all of this year’s participants for their thoughtful, forward-thinking proposals for Hancock Center.

Special thanks to their ULI Austin Mentor, Bill Davies, and to Steven Spears and Dean Almy for serving as their advisors.

Lastly, a big thank you to Rebecca Leonard for serving as a mentor as well as coordinating ULI Austin’s overall involvement and thoughtfully matching mentors with each UT team.
