Commission on State Emergency Communications The Commission consists of 12 members representing various public and private sector interests.

The Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) is an agency of the State of Texas charged with oversight of the Statewide 9-1-1 and Poison Control Programs. Members are appointed by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and the Speaker of the House to represent Cities, County Government, and Emergency Communications Districts. Three of the members are ex-officio and represent State Agencies. The Commissioners serve until such time as they are replaced or reappointed.

To celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week earlier this month, CSEC staff held a contest for telecommunicators across the state. The two contest winners are Alex Shiflet from the San Augustine Sheriff’s Office in the Deep East Texas Council of Governments region and Kristi Munoz from the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office in the Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission region.
