TSAFF today urged the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to support unprecedented new research on firefighter cancer survivorship. From TSAFF President John Riddle's letter: "While progress has been made in understanding cancer incidence within the fire service, there remains a significant and glaring gap in knowledge regarding survivorship experience after cancer diagnosis. Importantly, this will be the first study of its kind study conducted in Texas to comprehensively assess survivorship among firefighters."
