📣 ACTION ALERT: Speak Up on School Voucher Funding!

Texas’ new TEFA voucher program just launched, but funding could more than double from $1 billion to $2.3 billion - before we know how well it’s working, especially for students with Autism and other disabilities.

74% of voucher recipients were already in private school, and fewer than 30 students with disabilities received the full $30K award.

On 9/9, the Legislative Budget Board met to consider the Comptroller’s funding request. Keep telling Texas legislators: we need data, transparency, and accountability before billions more are spent.

“Labor Day, a holiday born from the struggle for workers' rights, thus became a symbol of the broader fight for workplace inclusivity. The holiday reminds us that the progress made in the labor movement must extend to all workers, including those with disabilities. The push for an inclusive workforce is not just a matter of legal compliance but a reflection of the values of fairness, equality, and respect for all individuals.”

If you’re one of the people who had their voter registration suspended, there’s still time to fix it.
