More than 175 incoming Stars in grades 6-9 kicked off their summer at Transition Camp, spending the week getting to know future classmates, learning about life at Ann Richards, and starting to feel at home in the Star community.

There was plenty of learning and fun along the way. Campers built letters in the MakerSpace that represented one of our character trait words, explored a science experiment that revealed the hidden colors inside pen ink, and learned about the traditions, values, and spirit that make Ann Richards such a special place.

They also enjoyed lunch together each day, thanks to Mr. Frank and Ms. Donna, giving students another chance to connect with friends before the school year begins.

The week wrapped up with a popsicle party hosted by the Pop Stars dad group, celebrating new friendships, shared experiences, and the exciting journey ahead as our newest Stars.

While summer break may have just begun, our rising seniors from the Class of 2027 spent their first week back on campus at the annual Writers' Workshop, taking an important step toward their college dreams.

With support from Ann Richards School faculty, Stars worked on brainstorming, drafting, and strengthening their college essays while building confidence in sharing their unique stories.

One of the highlights of the week was welcoming Star alumni back to campus to volunteer as mentors. Alumni reviewed essays, shared advice from their own college application journeys, and encouraged the next generation of Stars as they prepare for senior year.

Funded by the Ann Richards School Foundation, the Writers' Workshop helps give every Star a strong start to the college application process and a head start on a busy year ahead.

Last week, families, students, and staff gathered in the Commons to meet our new Principal, Jodi Granado.

It was an exciting opportunity for our community to learn more about Jodi's background, her nearly 16 years of experience in education, and her passion for helping students thrive. As a first-generation college graduate, Jodi shared her commitment to creating opportunities for young people and building a school culture where every student feels valued and supported.

The excitement in the room was clear as families and students got to know Jodi and hear firsthand about her enthusiasm for leading the Ann Richards School. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Ann Richards School community and look forward to all that is ahead for our Stars.

Yesterday, we celebrated an incredible milestone as 100 Stars from the Class of 2026 graduated from the Ann Richards School and officially joined our growing alumni community.

Together, these graduates earned nearly $26 million in merit-based scholarships, submitted 859 college applications, and received 548 offers of admission. This fall, they will attend 47 colleges and universities across 22 states, Canada, and the Netherlands.

Their success is part of a larger legacy. Since 2013, 1,224 Ann Richards School graduates have earned more than $227 million in merit-based scholarships and continue to make an impact in their communities and careers.

As we celebrate the Class of 2026, we are also celebrating the next generation of young women leaders who will carry forward the values of leadership, service, and academic excellence that define the Ann Richards School experience.

Congratulations to our newest alumni. We cannot wait to see where your journeys take you next.
