Travis County, you SHOWED UP on Drug Take Back Day!

We received 415 lbs. of unwanted medications that won’t end up harming our community.

That’s the weight of a vending machine, an adult panda, or a fully-stocked refrigerator.

The Travis County Constable Precinct 2 Office led the way with 10 boxes totaling 220 lbs. Way to go! 🎉

Missed our event? You can drop off unwanted medications year-round at any Travis County Constable Precinct: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/constables

Only 6 slots left for a guided hike on what some consider our prettiest trail.
THIS SATURDAY. Info below:

Hike 2 - May 16th

"Crème de la Crème"

The newest trail on our preserve is called the Collins Trail--- and it has been a hotspot for nesting, endangered species like the golden-cheeked warbler (GCWA). And guess what? You have a chance to see one—or at least hear their songs---May 16th by joining our Sounds of Spring guided hike on the Collins Trail.

And because it’s peak migration season, there’s no telling what other colorful and melodious birds we’ll see!

The Collins trail also features a pristine creek that travels over and underground, forming a pool with sunfish!

According to Interpretive Guide Aimee, the Collins Trail is our prettiest---the “Crème de la Crème,” especially in Spring.

But please be advised, the topographical changes here can make for a challenging hike.
If you’d like to join us, please see the deets below:

Shoutout to our Night Sky Program Director, Amy Jackson, for her work on The Stars at Night, now streaming for free on PBS!

The film explores our connection to the night sky and what’s at risk as light pollution grows. It also highlights why protecting darker skies matters, something we continue to support in our Travis County parks.✨🌌
