Congratulations to Amanda Crawford who received Government Technology News’ Bob Bullock Award for Outstanding Public Stewardship. Before being appointed insurance commissioner, she led the Texas Department of Information Resources where she brought innovation and strategic technology leadership to all levels of Texas government.

Crawford said, “Receiving an award associated with Bob Bullock is meaningful to me because his legacy represents something I care about deeply – building government that works for people.” When talking about her role at DIR, she shared, “We modernized systems, strengthened cybersecurity, expanded digital services, and helped agencies better serve millions of Texans. Texas has shown the country that government can innovate while still being accountable, secure, and responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.” And now as the state's insurance commissioner, Amanda Crawford continues to help Texas government function at its best.
