Meet DianaJoyce Ojeda, a Geographic Information Specialist on the Flood Mapping team in the Flood Science and Community Assistance Division.

She plays a key role in supporting Senate Bill 3 initiatives by integrating community feedback into Provisional Flash Flood Risk Areas. She also develops and maintains ArcGIS web applications that help the FSCA division manage Base Level Engineering, NFIP activities, and other important projects.

Her journey with the Texas Water Development Board began in 2021 as an intern at the Texas Geographic Information Office (formerly TNRIS) while completing her bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin. She supported the preparation of historical aerial imagery for digitization and gained valuable experience working with geospatial datasets. She later joined the FSCA Flood Mapping team, where she continues to grow her expertise in GIS and floodplain management.

With a background in Sustainability Studies, DianaJoyce understands the importance of responsible resource management. She recognizes water as both a finite and essential resource, as well as a powerful natural force that must be carefully managed to maintain balance.
