Texas Young Democrats Texas Young Democrats is the official under 40 arm of the Texas Democratic Party and is the Texas chapter of Young Democrats of America.

Founded in 1932, Texas Young Democrats (TYD) is the chartered unit of the Young Democrats of America in the Lone Star State and the official youth caucus of the Texas Democratic Party. Founded in 1932, TYD promotes political activism by young progressives to influence the political process and elect Democratic leaders throughout the state. TYD provides opportunities for young people to meet fellow

activists, work on campaigns and partner with local and state party officials while learning about the political process.

Under your leadership, Texas Young Democrats didn’t just grow, we transformed. From landmark constitutional reforms that decentralized our state convention and expanded participation, to restoring our financial foundation and empowering TYD to endorse statewide candidates, your presidency reshaped what youth organizing looks like in Texas.

You elevated young voices into the highest levels of the Democratic process, led grassroots efforts that pushed every TYD-endorsed candidate into a runoff, and positioned TYD as a leading force in the fight against racially gerrymandered maps. When Texas communities needed help most, you ensured TYD showed up — not just at the ballot box, but in moments of real crisis.

Most importantly, you rebuilt this organization from the ground up: restoring trust, modernizing our operations, and reaffirming TYD’s role as a credible, impactful force in Democratic organizing statewide.
