Patsy Sommer Elementary PTA We Are The Sommer Stallions! We are a volunteer based organization that is made up of Moms, Dads, Grandparent and family members.

We volunteer our time to give the needs and wants of the school and its children. Sommer PTA is a noncommercial, nonsectarian, nonpartisan association that does not endorse
any candidate or political party. This PTA does not endorse non-PTA products or services. Solicitation, or anything that resembles solicitation, shall not be posted on this site. If complaints
are received about content or if t

he PTA deems content to be advertising, that content will be
removed regardless of whether the content is relevant to our members. Offensive or inappropriate content shall not be tolerated. Any such content will be removed and

Did you miss the deadline to order a 2025-26 yearbook in time for your student to have on the last day of school? We have an option!!!

Until we run out, you can purchase a yearbook at the Cheddar link below. It will be delivered to your student's classroom with everyone else's!

CLOTHES CLOSET UNDERWEAR & SOCK DRIVE

The Clothes Closet is having a Spring Underwear and Sock Drive starting April 7th - May 8th! Items needed are bulleted below and mentioned in the flyer:

* Boys and mens boxer briefs in sizes small, medium, and large
* High school girls bikini or boxer briefs in all sizes
* Kids socks in sizes medium and large (colored, black, or gray)

Please remember these items must be New and In a Package. Donations can easily be dropped off in the designated bin located right inside Patsy Sommer's front doors with all other donations. As always, we are thankful for your generosity.

FIELD DAY 2026

We need your help! Field day will be on Friday, May 8th. This is an annual PE event, sponsored by the PTA. Grade levels will have one and half hours of fun, where students can rotate around different stations related to PE and movement. In order to make this big event run smoothly, we are in need of parent volunteers to help manage and monitor these stations. If you can commit to helping at one of the grade level session, please click the link below or scan the QR code.

The scheduled is below:
* 2nd & 4th Grade - 8:00 to 9:30am
* Pre-K, Kindergarten, & 1st Grade - 10:00 to 11:30am
* 3rd & 5th Grade - 12:45 to 2:15pm

NOTE: Parents must also submit a parent volunteer application through the Rock Rock ISD website. This application takes approximately three business days to process and is valid for one school year.

CLOTHES CLOSET UPDATES
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! This was another great week of donations to the Clothes Closet. Your generosity is amazing, and it's been a sheer pleasure to take the things donated to be distributed to the wonderful students of RRISD. The Clothes Closet is always very appreciative when the items are dropped, and I spare no expense telling them how grateful I am for all of you. You answered the call, and this week they advised they are fully stocked with elementary girls socks and underwear!! It's an amazing feeling to know that you all had a hand in ensuring that they were able to have more than enough donations for these children who are protected fully now in the event there is a need. On behalf of Sommer and the RRISD Clothes Closet, we again say thank you for opening up your hearts and wallets to these students. This could not have been accomplished without you

That being said, there are still a few needs that have not been fully met. They are still in need of a few items that are bulleted below. Please remember the undergarments must be New and In a Package. Donations can easily be dropped off in the designated bin located right inside Patsy Sommer's front doors with all other donations. As always, we are thankful for your generosity.

Are you looking for a long-term volunteer commitment? Please consider joining the Clothes Closet team! They are looking for new managers that can cover 2 mornings each month. For more information please reach out to the Community Service Chair at [email protected], or you can reach out to the RRISD Council of PTAs directly.

Also, volunteers are still needed through the end of the school year. Please consider signing up for a volunteer shift. This is a hands-on way to fulfill a great need as well. You can sign up easily using the link or QR code below.

LOST AND FOUND UPDATE - ITEMS BEING DONATED MAY 1ST

The Lost and Found is full and running over!! So much so that there are many items that could not be shown due to lack of space ☹️. Many items have been here for many months, without even a glance. Due to this, the difficult decision has been made to donate all current items in the Lost & Found on May 1st. This will allow us to add the newest items in an attempt to get all that have been left behind home to you. However, as one last push to get the items back to you, the Clothes Closet chair will be in the back of the school during pickup time Monday through Wednesday with the articles that are currently in the Lost & Found. Please feel free to pick up items during this time! Please also encourage your children to check for their missing items. They can check during their lunch period or before/after school. The Lost and Found is located directly across from the cafeteria.

Also, please label all of your children's items for the best chance of getting them returned if they are left behind. Please take a look at the pictures to see if you recognize anything that belongs to your child. If you see something but can't get to the school, please send an email to [email protected] with the item description, your child's name, and their teacher's name. We'll ensure your child's items get home.

If you missed the deadline to purchase your yearbook you still have the option to buy one. If you choose to purchase one through the Treering website, you will have to pay for shipping. Click the link below for the Treering website.
