Today, we honor the cultural diversity through the beautiful celebration of Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead). This vibrant tradition blends the ancient customs of the Aztecs with the influence of All Souls' Day, creating a unique opportunity to remember and celebrate our loved ones who have passed.

Día de los Mu***os is not just about mourning; it’s a joyful remembrance that invites us to reflect on the lives and legacies of those who came before us. It reminds us of the importance of family, community, and the connections that transcend time.

Texas Preparatory School District embraces this celebration as a way to foster understanding and appreciation of different cultures. Let’s come together to honor our ancestors and celebrate the beauty of diversity that enriches our lives. 🌼✨

🌼✨ ***os

Our Story

Texas Preparatory Schools are tuition-free charter schools that prepare the whole child through a diverse program for grades kindergarten through sixth. We now serve Central Texas with two conveniently located campuses in Austin and San Marcos. Established in San Marcos in 2001, Texas Prep has served elementary students and their families for nearly 14 years. Our all-day model welcomes students on campus from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to community-build and encourage student learning, responsibility and ownership. Our vision includes families that commute and those with caretakers who work late or are enrolled in higher education. Exemplary Academics & Fine Arts Ranked Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency and ranked number one elementary in the state based on test scores plus growth indicators,* Texas Prep’s academic program can’t be beat. Students are exposed to art everyday through courses inspired by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Fine Arts, Drama Matters and Music Matters programs. World-Class Afterschool Programs The Austin campus afterschool program is the East Austin Music Academy, the only local music immersion program of its kind for elementary students, featuring guitar, piano and drums. The San Marcos campus afterschool program includes full participation in the Boys & Girls Club of South Central Texas, featuring guided outdoor activities and lessons in nutrition and well-being.
