Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible and our policy is to accept the majority of comments shared by our community. Postings Subject to Summary Deletion: A comment or posting will be deleted if it contains:
• Hate speech;
• Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity;
• Nudity, including nudity in profile pictures;
• Defamation to a person or people;
• Name calling and/or personal attacks;
• Comments whose main purpose is to sell a product or service;
• Comments that infringe on copyrights, trademarks, patents or other forms of intellectual property;
• Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile;
• Comments in support or opposition of any social, political or personal cause, including specific political candidates and/or ballot measures;
• Personally identifiable/sensitive personal information; and
• Other comments that the TxRC, in its sole discretion, deems inappropriate. All links posted as comments on TxRC posts will be reviewed and may be deleted by the agency in its sole discretion. Repeated or egregious violations of the TxRC’s Social Media Guidelines and Comment Policy may cause the author or user to be blocked from the TxRC social media page. We will make every effort to monitor the contents of this page and ensure its content is of an appropriate nature; however, our resources do not allow for 24-hour monitoring. Websites: Texas.gov social media sites are third party sites and have terms of service and policies that are not governed by Texas.gov or the State of Texas. These third party sites are not official Texas.gov web sites and the third party’s website terms of service and policies apply. Privacy Notice Regarding Third Party Websites: TxRC social media content is in a public forum, and the TxRC cannot guarantee the privacy or security of information that users may post on the TxRC page of the social media website host. To protect your or others’ privacy, please do not disclose personally identifiable information or sensitive personal information about yourself or others (for example, social security number, driver’s license number, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, physical or mental health-related information). If you are looking for the official and most comprehensive source of information about the TxRC, please visit our official website at txrc.texas.gov. Postings and Information on the TxRC’s Page: The Texas Public Information Act (PIA) may apply to the TxRC’s assigned area of the social media website host. Social media sites may contain communications sent to or received by state employees, and such communications are therefore public records subject to State Records Retention requirements. These retention requirements apply regardless of the form of the record (digital text, photos, audio, or video, for example). To the extent that the third party records retention policies are inconsistent with the Texas State Record Retention Schedule, TxRC will put forth reasonable efforts to archive copies of social media content in order to meet State records retention obligations. Contacts: The TxRC will not contact you directly via phone, mail, or email in an attempt to solicit personal information from you as a result of you having posted a comment on a TxRC social media page. The TxRC may provide a response to a question from you. Complaints: TxRC’s social media pages are intended to make communication easier, but they are not the appropriate venue for complaints about a specific individual, business or organization.
